Goals. For most people, running is all about goals. Fitness level, time, distance or more, there is a goal that motivates the runner to put their shoes on and put one foot in front of the other. If you have goals, you should have a tangible plan on how to achieve them. That’s where a coach comes in. As your coach we will look at all aspects of your current running and figure out the best way for YOU to achieve them. There is no one size fits all training plan that can simply be given to every person to allow them to reach their successes. There are a number of principles that can be implemented on a case by case basis to increase your chances of success and achieve desired personal outcomes. Also, running is a part of our lives and we all have different amounts of time to dedicate to that pursuit. Individualized, specific training plans will help maximize your time without your training feeling like a burden hanging over your head.
So what does that mean for you? It means we will build a plan taking into consideration your current ability level and where you want that level to be in the future. We will work together to figure out a plan to maximize your schedule. You will tell me how many days you are comfortable with, and realistically capable of training. You will tell me what days are good for speed work or long runs, or what days you know a run won’t fit in. Realistic training for realistic goals. You will define what success is, and we will work together to make it happen.
Initial consultations are free of charge and can be set up for phone or in person meet up. It is at this time that we can discuss how personalized training plans are put together and delivered, I can get a better feel for where you are at with your own running, and you can ask any questions you may have regarding how the whole process works.

I started working with Steve eight weeks before my first half marathon. Steve put together a personalized plan based on my limited running experience. Since working with Steve, I have PR’d in 5k and half marathon distances. He knows my running goals and sets a plan to work towards them. Steve is always quick to respond to any questions I have. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone looking to improve their running goals.

I had the privilege of being Steve’s teammate in college and after a long running hiatus I knew it was time to get back in shape. After meeting with Steve and discussing my goals, we built a plan to get me back in top form while also maintaining my work and family life. Steve builds training plans where each workout has a purpose and has a means to an end. Needless to say, we have accomplished a great amount of success by doing smart workouts rather than all difficult workouts. I have been lucky enough to qualify and race in the Boston Marathon (3X’s), 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championship, and the 2020 Kona Ironman World Championship under Steve’s coaching. The best part is I know there is still room for improvement and I am confident I will get there with Steve’s support.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with Steve Sinko, aka Coach Steve, for several running goals over the past few years and couldn’t be more thankful for the process Steve employs! Steve has helped me with improving my race times, expanding my endurance for longer races, and overcoming mental and physical barriers through his coaching and overall support. The variety of methods and experience that Steve offers have not only lead to results, but also been refreshingly helpful for a beginner like myself. The plan that is provided helps give you the tools needed to achieve the goals. In addition to a training plan to keep you accountable, Steve also provides valuable feedback that helps achieve physical goals, but also overcome mental challenges. Being tough when needed but also encouraging to keep you motivated. What I find helpful is not only the training plan, communication and support that Steve offers week to week, but that he shares his experiences with training along the way that make running more relatable to all skill levels. I can’t thank him enough for his time and look forward to continued improvement in future while working with Steve!

Coach Steve has coached me for over 5 years now. When I turned 50, 4 1/2 years ago I had a crazy idea to run a marathon, pushing my 16 year son, who has special needs. I had no idea how to even begin training. It was not easy but Coach Steve not only gave me my miles, each week, to run but also encouraged me during the hard times. My first 20 miler it was forecasted to rain and was cold. I asked Steve if I could change my day for big miles but he said "you never know how race day will be". Not only did I train healthy but also was ready to run on race day strong! Good thing because race day was a NorEaster! We finished with Coach Steve waiting for us at the finish line! I am proud to say that over the past 5 years not only have we run 4 more marathons, I have not suffered any major injuries, maybe a black toe! I love going to bed and looking at my running schedule for the next day, and follow it to a T. If you want to run strong, fast and injury free (as we all hope for that) Coach Steve is the BEST!

"Coach Steve has elevated my running to new levels. From our first meeting, not only did he take the time to really understand my running goals, he wanted to understand 'why' I ran - what motivated me. That's something I hadn't thought deeply about since I was so goal focused. From that point, I knew I had a great coach! My weekly training plans are thoughtful and specific to my needs. He takes the time to understand my challenges, physical and mental blocks, and coaches me through the rough patches. His experience and expert advice is priceless! He keeps me on point, motivated and training with confidence. Coach Steve has helped me achieve many personal goals and I look forward to reaching many more. Because of his coaching, I am a healthier and happier runner."
